As lovely and soothing as a lit candle can be, it should be used cautiously in order to prevent accidents and to make the most of your candle burning experience.

Never leave a lit candle burning unattended.

Keep burning candles away from children and pets. They can be knocked over and create a fire.

Place the candle on a stable and heat-resistant surface, away from anything that can catch fire.

Make sure the room is well ventilated. Don’t burn too many candles in a small room or in a “tight” home where air exchange is limited.

Keep burning candles away from any air currents (drafts, ceiling fans etc) to prevent uneven burning, dripping, and even sooting.

Do not allow wick trimmings to accumulate in melted wax pool.

Never handle a burning candleor move it when the wax is liquid. The wax and the container get hot when in use. Extinguish and allow to fully cool after or in between use.

We recommend to use a candle snuffer to blow out a candle. This avoids hot wax dripping and splattering and producing too much smoke.

Never extinguish a candle with water. For the first use, burn the candle until the entire top of the candle is melted, which can take 2-3 hours This will melt the wax to the edge of the glass or tin. Our candles are designed to burn all the way to the edges. This will help prolong the life of your candle.

Never burn a candle when the wick is not in the center of the candle wax.

Never burn your candle longer than four hours at a time.

When needed, trim the wick down to around ¼ inch before relighting in order to control the size of the flame and cut down smoking.
